About Me
Hi, I’m Ishita Ranjan-Churchill - a researcher, facilitator, strategist and coach.
Working across the impact investment, social enterprise and charity sectors, I enable social organisations to embed equity and inclusion, turning good intentions into meaningful, lasting impact. I bring together research, design, facilitation and strategy to create work that’s practical, human and rooted in equity.
I’m the Founder of Spark, a Community Interest Company supporting racialised people and communities, and Spark Insights, its research and consulting arm. Together, we partner with organisations to embed anti-racism in their work - creating spaces for honesty, learning and transformation.
At the core of my work is a belief that equity and impact go hand in hand - and that we can build systems, workplaces and lives that are more human, inclusive and whole.
My Portfolio
Impact Investment
I’ve worked with leading UK impact investors, including Big Issue Invest, the Growth Impact Fund, UnLtd and Impetus, to embed equity and anti-oppressive practice across their work. From equity audits to workshops on investment bias and inclusive investment design, I help shift how investment decisions are made and who benefits.
Collaborated with the Camden Community Wealth Fund, a £30m social investment initiative, to design inclusive learning and evaluation processes. This work embedded reflection, equity and evidence-based decision-making across participation and diversity pilots, ensuring funding better reflects local people and reduces inequality in Camden.
Good Finance
As a former Director of the Good Finance team, I helped charities and social enterprises navigate impact investment through user-centred, accessible resources. I led strategies to boost reach and engagement while embedding equity and inclusion across its strategy, tools, and learning platforms - opening up access to finance for underrepresented communities and levelling the playing field in the sector.
Macmillan x Spark Insights
Since 2022, we have partnered with Macmillan. In our role as an open strategy partner, we work to centre the lived experiences of people with cancer within the organisations' strategy.
Mind x Spark Insights
Partnered with Mind as a learning and research partner, delivering lived experience research that shaped their anti-racism work and approach to equitable, culturally relevant mental health support. Read more about my work with Mind here.
Power to Change x Spark Insights
Uncovered the hidden barriers preventing marginalised community groups from accessing funding and turned insight into action, partnering with funders, community businesses and infrastructure bodies to embed equity in everyday funding decisions. Read more about my work with Power to Change here.
